From default repos on Ubuntu 14.04 you’ll got Docker version 1.6.2 which is pretty old.
So you can use this simple script to install current version of Docker:
sudo su apt-key adv --keyserver hkp://p80.pool.sks-keyservers.net:80 --recv-keys 58118E89F3A912897C070ADBF76221572C52609D echo "deb https://apt.dockerproject.org/repo ubuntu-trusty main" > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/docker.list apt-get update apt-get purge lxc-docker apt-cache policy docker-engine apt-get update apt-get install linux-image-extra-$(uname -r) -y apt-get install docker-engine -y
